aclocal | ||

aclocal is part of the automake package.
The command places the macros used in the configure.ac and
Makefile.am from system wide definitions and puts the in
a local file (directory???) named aclocal.m4. This makes it possible to move the code to a different machine.
aclocal produces
aclocal will probably disappear because autoconf will take over its functionality.
Options-I
The -I option is for example used when the m4-macros reside in a m4 subdirectory.
